[22:33:50] <msk> g'day pete
[22:34:13] <resnick> Howdy.
[22:34:52] <msk> what's new in pete-land?
[22:36:13] <resnick> Busy busy. But nothing of great excitement this week except for the lack of response to my comments on maturity-levels. :-)
[22:36:25] <resnick> I feel that nobody cares. :-(
[22:36:27] <resnick> ;)
[22:36:40] <msk> they're so immature.
[22:37:31] <resnick> heh
[22:40:59] <msk> i have to read it again, just found it
[22:41:04] <msk> you did get at least one reply (SM)
[22:41:34] <msk> i'm behind on ietf@ because i was preparing a whack of drafts on reputation (7!) just submitted yesterday
[22:41:47] <msk> and another one in progress for the WEIRDS stuff
[22:41:57] <resnick> Yeah, I was mostly being snarky.
[22:42:01] <msk> and MAAWG starts next week so i had to read all the current v6ops stuff
[22:42:02] <msk> yadda yadda
[22:42:07] <msk> still stormy?
[22:42:23] <resnick> Nah, a bit of rain here in the midwest today, but nothing exciting.
[22:42:41] <msk> nothing like what MA got i hope
[22:42:48] <msk> oh hey, i have an AD question!
[22:42:52] <msk> huzzah, i know.
[22:43:10] <msk> today i saw for the second time a hint that a document with a downref has to do two LCs
[22:43:20] <msk> is that only if the first LC failed to mention the downref, or is it always two?
[22:45:34] <resnick> It was the failure to mention that was the problem.
[22:45:54] <resnick> I think it was a bug in a IESG tool that failed to point it out.
[22:46:23] <msk> tools are jerks!
[22:46:24] <msk> ok, thanks
[22:46:38] <msk> spt owes me a favour :)
[22:47:10] <resnick> For what is this favor owed?
[22:47:24] <msk> draft-ietf-dkim-mailinglists will do a second LC to mention a downref
[22:47:29] <msk> (i am author)
[22:48:15] <resnick> At least I think it was a tool failure. Could be a chair failure...I'm not sure what's supposed to check for that.
[22:48:30] <msk> did you just call barry a tool?
[22:48:40] <resnick> ;)
[22:48:56] <resnick> Is this room archived?
[22:49:10] <msk> i'm sure he knows i'm not serious.
[22:53:34] Tobias leaves the room: Disconnected: connection closed
[22:54:58] <msk> when do you get to QC?
[22:55:17] <resnick> About every other month, give or take.
[22:55:24] <resnick> Oh, Quebec.
[22:55:31] <resnick> I thought you meant Qualcomm.
[22:55:45] <resnick> (Which we refer to as QC)
[22:55:53] <resnick> I get to Quebec late Friday night.
[22:56:20] <resnick> I told Robert I'd try to be useful at the codesprint. More likely I'll be a drain on people as I try to learn Python. :-)
[22:56:26] Tobias joins the room
[22:56:44] <msk> hahah
[22:56:52] <msk> just "yay team" it instead :)
[22:57:13] <resnick> It's been a while since I've written any real code. It would be good for me.
[22:57:31] Tobias leaves the room: Disconnected: connection closed
[22:57:36] <msk> what do you do for qualcomm if not that?
[22:58:03] <resnick> Now? Teach and talk to lawyers. I used to be a programmer. Now I'm useless. I just talk alot.
[22:58:29] <msk> teaching can be fun, when you have good audiences
[22:58:35] <msk> i teach at MAAWG sometimes, and at USENIX once
[22:58:53] <resnick> And sometimes I do. I teach internal engineering classes at Qualcomm, mostly on the use of open source.
[22:59:00] <msk> oh yay!
[22:59:11] <msk> i do a lot of open source stuff, especially around DKIM
[22:59:21] <msk> moving into this reputation stuff
[22:59:29] <msk> i really wish i'd paid more attention in second-year stats now
[22:59:29] <resnick> "How not to frighten our legal department for engineers". Or something like that. :-)
[22:59:42] <msk> does qualcomm still do a lot of open source?
[23:00:02] <resnick> We're getting more involved with it because of all of the Android stuff.
[23:00:07] <resnick> But no, not in general.
[23:00:11] <msk> ah right
[23:41:15] resnick leaves the room
[23:53:53] msk leaves the room
